Our story
The Alliance Française of Abu Dhabi is a non-profit institution open to culture and civilizations since 1974. The main mission of the Alliance Française is to promote the French language and the cultural dissemination of the Francophone world as a whole to the local public. It aims to encourage cultural and linguistic exchanges between France, Francophone countries, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Alliance Française regularly welcomes students from public institutions, universities, and schools in Abu Dhabi, thus forming a community of learners from around the world, sharing knowledge of the French language and Francophone cultures.
The French courses offered by the Alliance Française are tailored to different levels and needs, ranging from beginners to advanced levels. These courses are taught by qualified instructors and follow the programs established by the organization.
In addition to French courses, it also offers Arabic and English classes, allowing community members to diversify their language skills.
The Alliance Française regularly organizes a variety of cultural events such as concerts, art exhibitions, lectures, and film screenings. These events aim to enrich the local cultural scene and raise awareness of Francophone cultural diversity.
In addition to its educational and cultural activities, the Alliance Française offers recreational activities for both children and adults, promoting social gatherings and the sharing of experiences among members of the Francophone and Francophile communities.
The Alliance Française of Abu Dhabi, along with its branch located in Al Ain, operates as an association under the responsibility of the French Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The team at the Alliance Française of Abu Dhabi is made up of passionate and qualified professionals who ensure an environment conducive to language learning and the promotion of Francophone culture in the region. Here is a general overview of the various services:
- The administration, managed by the administrative director, includes an accountant, a communications officer, a receptionist, maintenance staff, and an IT manager.
- The language and exam department consists of a department head, a customer relations officer, an exam coordinator, as well as permanent and part-time teachers.
In summary, the Alliance Française of Abu Dhabi stands out as a vital center for French language learning, promoting linguistic and cultural diversity, and creating lasting connections between local and Francophone communities.

Meet the Team
Samar Boughzala
Samar is passionate about cooking, reading, and listening to music. She joined Alliance Française in 2019. Samar takes care of all the administrative and financial tasks. She is also in charge of the administrative part, the human resources, and the material resources. Samar brings the best of her business management experience to Alliance Française. Her favorite part about her job is the teamwork, she is always happy to assist her colleagues at Alliance Française!
Flora Launay
Flora is an energetic and passionate language educator who loves anything related to languages, cultures and travels. She enjoys walking by night, reading, listening to music, chatting with her friends and family and reflecting on various social, philosophical and spiritual topics. She holds an MA in teaching French as a foreign language and worked in several countries around the world: Colombia, Australia, India and now the UAE.
Amélie Dietler
I am a French accountant passionate about numbers. I am delighted to put my skills at the service of the Alliance Française since October 2022 and contribute to its influence. A year filled with challenges! In parallel, I love traveling, gastronomy, and exploring the magnificent culture of the Emirates that is opening up to me and my family. Looking forward to meeting you at our premises.
Marwa Abdulmonem
"Salut!" My name is Marwa, I have studied information technology in the university of science and technology Khartoum Sudan. I am a receptionist and client-servicing assistant at Alliance Française Abu Dhabi. I oversee receiving calls and helping clients discover our French cultural center and encourage them to register in French courses as well. I enjoy communicating with clients and building relationships. I hope that with Alliance Française I will be able to enhance my professional skills and reinforce my existent qualities…
Sreesal Sasidharan Nair
Sreesal is a multi-disciplinary Computer Engineer who’s delivered creative and engaging solutions across System Support, IT Administration and ICT Management in Alliance Française Abu Dhabi since 2020. He is specialized in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication. He started working on this field from 2010. He joined Alliance Française because of his interest in French culture and language. But since, he delivers his competence to Alliance Française with the digital transition in classes and with new technologies that improve distance learning(hybrid class).
Latifa Zinebi
My name is Latifa Zinebi. I am Moroccan, I am married, and I have 3 children. I love my job because I am very interested in meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures.
I hold a master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Rouen in France. After graduating, I joined my husband in the UAE in December 2013. To maintain contact with the French language and culture, I applied to the Alliance Française Al Ain where I have been working since 2014.
I am a multitasking person. My tasks at Alliance Française range from administrative, financial, and educational management to cultural events planning and social network communication.
Our professional teachers
Marie Van Den Berghe
Marie is a permanent teacher at Alliance Française Abu Dhabi since January 2020. She is a specialist in teaching French as a foreign language. Originally from the south-west of France, Marie has an interesting intercultural experience. She had different professional experiences in Japan, Australia, and Colombia. In Marie’s view, the most rewarding aspect of her job is to see the progress of her students over the years. According to her words “The students themselves are teaching us a lot.
