CIMA, the International Certificate for Proficiency in Arabic, is the first internationally recognized certification that assesses your proficiency in modern standard Arabic. The Institut du Monde Arabe is a unique cultural bridge between France and the Arab nations, and in line with its mission to promote the Arabic language, it created the first comprehensive and meaningful certification in Arabic in 2018, in partnership with the International Center for Pedagogical Studies, the French National Education agency responsible for French language proficiency tests & diplomas.
CIMA Exam
Developed by the Institut du Monde Arabe with the scientific expertise of France Education International, CIMA is intended for anyone over the age of 15 and tests modern standard Arabic language proficiency of the candidates according to a scale of 6 levels, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). If you validate at least level A1, you will obtain a certificate corresponding to your level according to the CEFR scale: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2.
Exam Parts
It lasts approximately 3 hours (including breaks) and comprises 4 tests: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking.
